Behind Natural Reserve "Lo Zingaro" and not far from San Vito lo Capo you will find the small village of Visicari, just above Scopello village, facing the wonderful gulf of Castellamare del Golfo, in Trapani’s district.
Visicari is a village with small houses made by traditional stones structure that provides good insulation. The properties are situated near the Sparagio Mountain.
The variety of different owners of the village have maintained the houses in a traditional way, keeping alive the historical beauty of this delightful area.
IL GLICINE Visicari enjoys a very beautiful panoramic view of the country. You'll be encaptured by the beautiful colours: the turquoise blue of sea and of the sky, the different shades of silver green from the olive trees and the variety of flowers mix together to give a very tranquil atmosphere.

Because of its geographic position, IL GLICINE Visicari is just four kilometres from the seaside (Scopello); you can also walk in Sparagio Mountain or to the Natural Reserve Lo Zingaro, where in a few kilometres of coast more than 39 kinds of different birds (within them the Monelli eagle, the Pellegrino hawk, the Poiana (buzzard) etc.) live and where you can find splendid submerged caves and other amazing marine-life is found.

The accommodation

IL GLICINE Visicari offers two opportunities of accommodation:

A) The “Main House”, for 5 people maximum, has three bedrooms, a large living room, two bathrooms, a kitchen into which you can admire one of the characteristics of these houses, the wooden oven with the dome-shaped cowl.

The "Main House" is surrounded by a great rock garden, lovely well maintained by the owner of the house, in which you find several steps and terraces where you can read and relax.

On the terraces you can enjoy your continental breakfast or lunch immersed in nature and accompanied by chirping birds. There is also a barbecue in which you can roast savoury local fish and beef. The “Main House” doesn’t have a heating system; in winter you can heat the house with a wooden burning stove.

B) The second accommodation you can ask, for two people maximum, is the “Dependance” close to the “Main House”, absolutely independent, equipped with a kitchen stove, bathroom with shower, terrace behind the house in the garden with a table for your breakfast or lunch, from which you can also enjoy the splendid scenery of the country and of the Castellamare’s Gulf.

If you ask for this solution you will have independent entry to the house and it is possible to use the barbecue (you can read above).

The “Dependance” also doesn’t have a heating system; in winter heat is provided by a the stoves.

It’s possible to rent one or both homes for one or more weeks. Guests will be provided with bed linen and towels free of charge and, at request, a laundry service.

As we are in a silent and lonely place, respect for the neighbours and courteous behaviour are appreciated.

Where we are

Visicari is very close to Scopello, not far from the town of Castellamare del Golfo (District of Trapani), 45 minutes far from the famous San Vito Lo Capo's beaches, 80 km away from the port of Palermo and 50 km away from port of Trapani; moreover is 50 km away from Palermo - Falcone Borsellino Airport and 60 km away from Trapani - Birgi Airport. It is necessary to have your own car to get to IL GLICINE Visicari and to be able to visit the area during the journey.

PLACES TO VISIT:

· The Natural Reserve of “Lo Zingaro” is 5 minutes drive; there you can find one of the most enchanting seas in Sicily;

· Segesta’s thermals bathing pool of natural sulphurous water, agreeable for a very relaxing experience and good for the health, it is only a 15 minutes drive;

· In 20 minutes drive you can find Segesta: the most famous temple in Sicily and a theatre from which you can see numerous shows in July and August, and everyday the splendid sunset above the country;

· In 30 minutes drive you can visit the very ancient town of Erice, with its characteristic stone floors, in which you can taste the famous almond cake made by the nuns and you can buy the famous handmade carpets of numerous colours;

· Trapani is a 30 minutes drive. The city is rich in culture, with a very interesting museum of the Coral, where you can admire typical hand-manufactured work: Near Trapani there are the “Saline”, which still produce salt, with characteristic windmills;

· In 30 minutes drive you can reach the famous town of San Vito Lo Capo, with its main white beaches and its blue waters. There you'll find the property of IL GLICINE San Vito.

· Egadi Islands (Favignana, Levanzo, Marettimo) are well connected with the port of Trapani and is easy for you to go and come back in the same day;

· Mothya’s Island, was inhabited in prehistorically age, a 50 minutes drive by car and by boat, near the little town of Marsala. It was a very important place for the commercial expansion of Carthago. So the island has a great archaeological interest;

· A quite 30 minutes drive, near the little town of Castelvetrano, towards Mazara del Vallo, the archaeological centre of Selinunte, one of the most famous centres because of its urban and monumental magnificence.
