The atmosphere of the real Palermo, the city of contradictions, lies in the charm of its historic buildings, monuments, churches and squares, but also in the poverty of the lanes and alleys.
IL GLICINE "Mosca nera" bed and breakfast / apartment - a 50 m² 4-bed holiday home in a recently restored palazzo in Via Terra delle Mosche 23 - is located right in the heart of the true city of Palermo, a few steps away from Piazza Marina, the heart of Palermo.
Just behind Corso Vittorio Emanuele and a few metres from the famous Vucciria market - once so often depicted by painters, writers and film directors - the ancient city area is now being brought back to life after years of abandonment with the restoration of churches and public and private buildings.
Nearby are the some of the most important landmarks of Palermo: Piazza Pretoria, the Cathedral, Palazzo dei Normanni and San Giovanni degli Eremiti.
The apartment, situated on the second floor (with lift), is a single room studio flat and it is composed of a night-time area with double bed, located on a mezzanine floor overlooking the sitting room which is reached by a delightful honey-toned wooden staircase. The elegant sitting room is furnished with a comfortable sofa bed and lit by two large French windows leading to a long balcony overlooking the street below.
The kitchen-dining area is furnished with antique furniture and ceramics. The bathroom (fitted with shower) is preceded by a corridor lined with a large wardrobe. The apartment offers TV and air conditioning.
- The whole of the centre of the city of Palermo can be visited on foot; the main monuments are just a few metres away;
- The area is well served by public transportation;

The town of Palermo will require a few days to visit its fascinating historical centre (one of the biggest in Europe) the many churches, the palazzos and the picturesque markets. Segesta with its theatre and temple is only 40 Kms away. The Zingaro, few kms far from our property, is one of the most beautiful natural coastal reserve and deserves a visit. Day-trips from Palermo can be arranged to visit Monreale and its mosaics of the Cathedral, Bagheria and its baroque villas, Cefalù with its famous Cathedral and its beautiful beach, Solunto and its ruins, Trapani, Erice, Agrigento, Mothia, Piazza Armerina.

How to get there
FROM PUNTA RAISI FALCONE-BORSELLINO AIRPORT OR FROM THE EAST OF SICILY - BY CAR
Follow the directions for the port ("Porto") and then head towards Piazza Marina. Take Corso Vittorio Emanuele and then the second road on the right (Via Chiavettieri). Via Terra delle Mosche is the first street on the left. The map opposite may help your arrival.
FROM THE CENTRAL STATION - ON FOOT
Take Via Roma (opposite the exit from the station) and after 700 metres turn right into Corso Vittorio Emanuele. After approximately 300 metres, turn left into Via Chiavettieri. The first street on the left is Via Terra delle Mosche. The map opposite may help your arrival.
FROM THE PORT - BY CAR OR ON FOOT
On leaving the port, turn left into Lungomare Via F. Crispi and head towards Piazza Marina. After the underpass, you will come to the old city port, the "Cala". At the halfway point of the semicircle, head straight on towards Corso Vittorio Emanuele and turn right. Shortly after take the second road on the left (Via Chiavettieri). Via Terra delle Mosche is the first street on the left. The map above may help your arrival.

ensure the EXCLUSIVE USE OF THE FLAT and include breakfast.
A minimum stay of three nights is required.
An advance of 20% should be paid at the reservation time. The balance will be paid at the arriving.
Children below 8 years old are not accepted. We speak English, French, Spanish and German.
